At Palencia Montessori Academy, our preschool and early education teachers guide children toward developing an intrinsic and lifelong love of learning. The teacher, child, and environment create a learning triangle. Children navigate their classroom environments for an uninterrupted work cycle each morning where they learn to establish a sense of respect for themselves, others, and their environment.
The children are free to choose their own lessons within reasonable boundaries. Through the uninterrupted work cycles, children practice working independently and at their own pace while discovering their passions. The children of Palencia Montessori Academy are always nurtured, valued, and respected. The Montessori curriculum supports the growth of each child’s intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development. We rejoice in knowing that the Palencia Montessori curriculum is preparing our children for their lives ahead, all while teaching them practical life skills to aid them in their journey towards independence.

What Is Montessori?
The Montessori Method fosters self-motivated growth for children in all areas of their development—cognitive, emotional, social, and physical. Montessori education is student-led and self-paced but guided, assessed, and enriched by knowledgeable and caring teachers, the leadership of their peers, and a nurturing environment. Montessori students grow up to be confident, enthusiastic, and self-directed learners and citizens, accountable to both themselves and their community.
They think critically, work collaboratively, and act boldly and with integrity. What better outcome could you wish for your children?
Toddler and Early Childhood Programs
Each classroom in both the Toddler and Early Childhood programs has a mix of ages within a three-year age span. These programs encourage younger children to learn from older children as they model and practice leadership skills.
The older children, too, reinforce their knowledge by presenting lessons they have already ‘mastered’ to younger children, further building upon their leadership skills. Children explore and discover, collaborate with classmates, and take ownership of their early education.
